Attended this restaurant as a result of comments left in the guest book where we were staying. A lovely looking wooden building with large windows, inside spacious, well laid out, very clean, and nicely decorated. Staff very efficient, friendly and polite, the restaurant is proud to use locally sourced food, and it's delicious, there is nothing on that menu I wouldn't eat, and very well priced considering its situated in a remote location. If your on the island make time to have a meal here, it worth it, great experience.
What a wonderful birthday experience! We arrived without making a reservation and we were incredibly lucky to have a table (we would definitely recommend booking). We had a very delicious locally produced meal. One of which we would go back, again and again for! We had two little ones, which we were a little bit anxious about as it was just so nice, however the child's menu and portions were excellent and the staff accommodated them well. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

This restaurant has providence at the heart of its menu - sourcing local ingredients to make delicious food. I had the trout tartare starter - it was the finest smoked fish I've ever had. The service was considerate, the music was perfect and not too loud, creating a lovely relaxed environment. I would return without hesitation for another fantastic meal at Am Birlinn.
One of the best restaurants on Isle of mole cheaper than Tobermory and service and quality of the food is exceptional. The owners take pride in this restaurant and work front of housing & as the chef in the kitchen. Exceptionally fresh produce everything grown locally or locally. This could quite easily be Michelin star restaurant. If you’re coming for a few days, and enjoy fine dining with an extensive menu do not miss this Restaurant.

Some of the best food we have had anywhere- not just on Mull. Great local produce cooked with flair and expertise, great presentation- some dishes looked beautiful on the plate. Local daily specials as well as a great selection of staple menu items, including vegetarian, seafood and meat. We ate and would highly recommend the roast pork, venison casserole, seafood stew, scallops and espresso panda cotta. Also an impressive purpose built timber building with high ceilings, good decor and comfortable seats / tables. Good service.
We had generous delicious portions of mushroom soup, steamed mussels, langoustines, cod. Dessert was amazing-apple blueberries crumble with home made ice cream, cheese cake & homemade ice cream (mango passion fruit flavour). Lovely lady served us and overall great dining experience. Clean and nice ambiance. Highly recommended if you’re in Mull.
